For this weeks Motivation Monday I wrote a blog for you all about walking!

Have a look at what our week entailed…

Hello everybody, hope you’re keeping well, and I hope the covid news isn’t getting you down. This week I’ve written a blog about my love of walking, not just to burn calories but a bit of mindfulness as well, I’m a big fan.

There’s a great blog from Kat on why diets don’t work, I’m in complete agreement with her, do try and have a read.

Also, on there this week is a “10 minutes with” interview with Jane Devonshire, who was a MasterChef winner. I’m in discussion with Jane and her publisher about her having her own gluten-free section on our site. Staying with food, of course, 6 new recipes went up this week.

You might not want to hear this but we’re already thinking about Christmas, I may well get all the experts together and put ‘a surviving Christmas as healthily as you can’, action plan together. Watch this space.

Tammy, our yoga girl, is now in the Facebook group. We like her a lot and you can expect much more from her in the future.

We love to hear your stories and your journeys; we really love any before and after pictures that you can share with us. In fact, if any of you are happy to share your stories with us and possibly a journalist, do please let us know. Just send us an e-mail to help@showme.fit

Next Week…

Next week we’ll be reaching into mindfulness with Tammy, in fact, we plan to give her her own section, yoga and mindfulness. It’s certainly something that I’m getting into and in such extraordinary times, I think it may become more and more relevant.

There will be another “10 minutes with” interview, another workout from Danny, a blog from me and another from one of our experts. There will be more recipes of course and some filming in the kitchen with Kat, our nutritionist. Dishes that are fit for the autumn weather, you know, something a bit warmer. There will be more yoga on the way and as I’ve said, I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of Tammy.

Keep well, don’t worry or stress, the best thing we can do right now is keep ourselves and our loved ones fit and healthy.

Our Expert Friends’ Weekly Notes:

Katharine Bright – Registered Nutritionist:

‘In the colder times one the best things for healthy eating is soup, soup and stew. Pack them full of vegetables and make yourself a big bowl of comfort.’

Anna Wallace – Home Cooked Recipes:

‘It is easy to lose motivation in the dark mornings and evenings, the key is to plan ahead and then only eat what you have planned to.’

Danny Rai – Personal Trainer:

‘Feeling colder? Let’s get the blood pumping! The cold weather should be no reason to not move!’

Dr Kevin Dutton – Psychologist:

‘Please stop saying ‘just’ or ‘only’ and being disappointed in yourselves. A loss is a loss, an achievement is an achievement… no matter how big or small. Tell us them and say it with pride.’

This week for Wellness Wednesday, Kat wrote us a blog all about how diets don’t work.
